1. Data protection at a glance
General information
The following information provides a simple overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit this website. Personal data is any data by which you can be personally identified. For detailed information on the subject of data protection, please refer to our privacy policy set out below this text.
Data collection on this website
Who is responsible for data collection on this website?
Data processing on this website is carried out by the website operator. You can find the operator's contact details in the section “Note on the controller” in this privacy policy.
How do we collect your data?
On the one hand, your data is collected when you provide it to us. This may, for example, be data that you enter into a contact form.
Other data is collected automatically or after your consent by our IT systems when you visit the website. This is mainly technical data (e.g. internet browser, operating system or time of the page view). This data is collected automatically as soon as you enter this website.
What do we use your data for?
Part of the data is collected to ensure that the website is provided without errors. Other data may be used to analyse your user behaviour. Where contracts can be concluded or initiated via the website, the transmitted data is also processed for contract offers, orders or other order enquiries.
What rights do you have regarding your data?
You have the right at any time to receive information, free of charge, about the origin, recipients and purpose of your stored personal data. You also have a right to request the rectification or erasure of this data. If you have given consent to data processing, you can withdraw this consent at any time with effect for the future. You also have the right, under certain circumstances, to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data. Furthermore, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.
You can contact us at any time regarding this and any other questions on the subject of data protection.
Analysis tools and third-party tools
When you visit this website, your browsing behaviour may be statistically evaluated. This is done mainly with so-called analysis programs.
Detailed information on these analysis programs can be found in the following privacy policy.
2. Hosting
Hetzner
The provider is Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany (hereinafter Hetzner). For details, please refer to Hetzner's privacy policy: https://www.hetzner.com/de/rechtliches/datenschutz.
Hetzner is used on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in the most reliable possible presentation of our website. Where corresponding consent has been requested, processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG, insofar as the consent covers the storage of cookies or access to information in the user's device (e.g. device fingerprinting) within the meaning of the TDDDG. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.
Data processing on our behalf
We have concluded a data processing agreement (DPA) for the use of the above-mentioned service. This is a contract required by data protection law which ensures that the service processes the personal data of our website visitors only in accordance with our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.
3. General information and mandatory information
The operators of these pages take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy.
When you use this website, various items of personal data are collected. Personal data is data by which you can be personally identified. This privacy policy explains what data we collect and what we use it for. It also explains how and for what purpose this is done.
We point out that data transmission over the internet (e.g. when communicating by email) may have security gaps. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.
Note on the controller
The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:
Pixzl
Walid D. Rieken
Marienstraße 9
48683 Ahaus
Phone: +49 (0) 152 598 383 11
Email: office@pixzl.de
The controller is the natural or legal person who, alone or jointly with others, decides on the purposes and means of the processing of personal data (e.g. names, email addresses, etc.).
Storage period
Unless a more specific storage period has been stated in this privacy policy, your personal data will remain with us until the purpose for the data processing no longer applies. If you assert a justified request for erasure or withdraw consent to data processing, your data will be erased unless we have other legally permissible reasons for storing your personal data (e.g. retention periods under tax or commercial law); in the latter case, erasure takes place once these reasons no longer apply.
General information on the legal bases for data processing on this website
If you have consented to data processing, we process your personal data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR or Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR, where special categories of data under Art. 9(1) GDPR are processed. In the case of express consent to the transfer of personal data to third countries, data processing is also carried out on the basis of Art. 49(1)(a) GDPR. If you have consented to the storage of cookies or to access to information in your device (e.g. via device fingerprinting), data processing is additionally carried out on the basis of § 25(1) TDDDG. Consent can be withdrawn at any time. If your data is required for the performance of a contract or for the implementation of pre-contractual measures, we process your data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Furthermore, we process your data, where it is required to fulfil a legal obligation, on the basis of Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR. Data processing may also be carried out on the basis of our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Information on the legal bases relevant in each individual case is provided in the following paragraphs of this privacy policy.
Recipients of personal data
In the course of our business activities, we work with various external parties. In some cases, this also requires the transfer of personal data to these external parties. We only pass on personal data to external parties if this is necessary for the performance of a contract, if we are legally obliged to do so (e.g. passing on data to tax authorities), if we have a legitimate interest in the disclosure under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or if another legal basis permits the disclosure of data. When using processors, we only pass on personal data of our customers on the basis of a valid data processing agreement. In the case of joint processing, a joint processing agreement is concluded.
Withdrawal of your consent to data processing
Many data processing operations are only possible with your express consent. You can withdraw consent you have already given at any time. The lawfulness of the data processing carried out until the withdrawal remains unaffected by the withdrawal.
Right to object to data collection in special cases and to direct advertising (Art. 21 GDPR)
IF DATA PROCESSING IS CARRIED OUT ON THE BASIS OF ART. 6(1)(E) OR (F) GDPR, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT AT ANY TIME TO OBJECT TO THE PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA ON GROUNDS RELATING TO YOUR PARTICULAR SITUATION; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING BASED ON THESE PROVISIONS. THE RESPECTIVE LEGAL BASIS ON WHICH PROCESSING IS BASED CAN BE FOUND IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY. IF YOU OBJECT, WE WILL NO LONGER PROCESS YOUR AFFECTED PERSONAL DATA UNLESS WE CAN DEMONSTRATE COMPELLING LEGITIMATE GROUNDS FOR THE PROCESSING WHICH OVERRIDE YOUR INTERESTS, RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS, OR THE PROCESSING SERVES THE ESTABLISHMENT, EXERCISE OR DEFENCE OF LEGAL CLAIMS (OBJECTION UNDER ART. 21(1) GDPR).
IF YOUR PERSONAL DATA IS PROCESSED FOR THE PURPOSE OF DIRECT ADVERTISING, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO OBJECT AT ANY TIME TO THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA CONCERNING YOU FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUCH ADVERTISING; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING INSOFAR AS IT IS RELATED TO SUCH DIRECT ADVERTISING. IF YOU OBJECT, YOUR PERSONAL DATA WILL SUBSEQUENTLY NO LONGER BE USED FOR THE PURPOSE OF DIRECT ADVERTISING (OBJECTION UNDER ART. 21(2) GDPR).
Right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority
In the event of infringements of the GDPR, data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of their habitual residence, their place of work or the place of the alleged infringement. The right to lodge a complaint exists without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedies.
Right to data portability
You have the right to have data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in performance of a contract handed over to you or to a third party in a commonly used, machine-readable format. If you request the direct transfer of the data to another controller, this will only be done insofar as it is technically feasible.
Information, rectification and erasure
Within the framework of the applicable statutory provisions, you have the right at any time to free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of the data processing and, where applicable, a right to rectification or erasure of this data. You can contact us at any time regarding this and any other questions on the subject of personal data.
Right to restriction of processing
You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data. You can contact us at any time for this purpose. The right to restriction of processing exists in the following cases:
- If you dispute the accuracy of your personal data stored by us, we generally need time to verify this. For the duration of the verification, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.
- If the processing of your personal data was/is unlawful, you can request the restriction of data processing instead of erasure.
- If we no longer need your personal data but you need it for the exercise, defence or establishment of legal claims, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data instead of erasure.
- If you have lodged an objection under Art. 21(1) GDPR, a balancing of your interests and ours must be carried out. As long as it has not yet been determined whose interests prevail, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.
If you have restricted the processing of your personal data, this data may - apart from its storage - only be processed with your consent or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims or for the protection of the rights of another natural or legal person or for reasons of important public interest of the European Union or of a Member State.
4. Data collection on this website
Cookies
Our web pages use so-called “cookies”. Cookies are small data packets and do not cause any damage to your device. They are stored on your device either temporarily for the duration of a session (session cookies) or permanently (permanent cookies). Session cookies are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Permanent cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them yourself or they are automatically removed by your web browser.
Cookies can originate from us (first-party cookies) or from third-party companies (so-called third-party cookies). Third-party cookies enable the integration of certain services from third-party providers on websites (e.g. cookies for processing payment services).
Cookies perform different functions. Many are technically necessary, as certain website functions would not work without them (e.g. the shopping cart function or the display of videos). Other cookies serve to analyse user behaviour or are used for advertising purposes.
Cookies that are required to carry out electronic communication processes, to provide certain functions you have requested (e.g. shopping cart function) or to optimise the website (e.g. cookies for reach measurement) are stored on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, unless another legal basis is stated. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the storage of necessary cookies in order to ensure the technically error-free and optimised provision of its services. If your consent to the storage of cookies or comparable recognition technologies has been requested, processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of this consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR in conjunction with § 25(1) TDDDG); you can withdraw your consent at any time.
You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general, and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this website may be limited.
You can find out which cookies and services are used on this website in this privacy policy.
Cookie consent management
This website uses its own, self-developed cookie consent solution to obtain your consent to the storage of certain cookies on your device and to document this consent in compliance with data protection law. No data is transferred to third-party providers in the process.
When you visit our website, a cookie (“pxl_consent”) is stored in your browser which contains the following information:
- Your consent(s) or the withdrawal of your consent(s) per category (technically necessary, functional)
- Time of consent
This cookie is stored for 365 days. You can withdraw or adjust your consent at any time via the “Cookie Settings” link in the footer of this website.
The cookie consent management is used to obtain the legally required consents for the use of certain technologies. The legal basis for this is Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR.
Consent log (Art. 7(1) GDPR)
As soon as you save your settings via the cookie banner (accept, reject or individual selection), we write an entry to our consent log for evidentiary purposes. This log serves exclusively as the proof required under Art. 7(1) GDPR that consent has been given. The following is stored:
- Timestamp of the consent
- Pseudonymised hash of your IP address (SHA-256, with a daily rotating salt - after the end of the day the original IP can no longer be technically reconstructed)
- User agent string of your browser, shortened to 200 characters
- Version number of the cookie policy to which you consented
- the selection made per cookie category (essential, functional)
The log data remains on our server (see section “Hosting”) and is not passed on to third parties. Storage period: three years from the day of consent - based on the regular limitation period for any evidentiary obligations -, after which the entries are deleted.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR in conjunction with Art. 7(1) GDPR (fulfilment of the statutory obligation to provide proof).
SSL or TLS encryption
For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as enquiries that you send to us as the site operator, this site uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock symbol in your browser line.
If SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
Server log files
The provider of these pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:
- Browser type and browser version
- Operating system used
- Referrer URL
- Host name of the accessing computer
- Time of the server request
- IP address
This data is not merged with other data sources.
This data is collected on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and the optimisation of its website - the server log files must be collected for this purpose.
Contact form
If you send us enquiries via the contact form, your details from the enquiry form, including the contact details you provide there (first name, last name, email address and, optionally, phone number, company, desired services, budget and your message), are stored by us for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in case of follow-up questions.
This data is processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your enquiry is related to the performance of a contract or is required for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective handling of enquiries addressed to us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
The data you enter in the contact form remains with us until you ask us to delete it, withdraw your consent to storage or the purpose for the data storage no longer applies (e.g. after your enquiry has been fully processed). Mandatory statutory provisions - in particular retention periods - remain unaffected.
To protect against automated abuse, the contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile (see section “Cloudflare Turnstile” below).
5. Analysis tools and advertising
Reach measurement with Umami
This website uses Umami, an open-source software for reach measurement. We operate Umami self-hosted on our own infrastructure at analytics.pixzl.de within the European Union. No data is transferred to third parties or to third countries.
Umami collects aggregated, non-personal usage data such as page views, length of stay, origin (referrer), the approximate region at country level and the browsers and operating systems used. We also record basic interactions such as clicks on outgoing links. No cookies are set and no information is stored on or read from your device; there is no cross-device tracking and no recognition beyond individual days.
Your IP address is processed exclusively for a short time and on the server side to detect unique visits and is not stored permanently. It is not possible to identify individual persons.
Since there is no access to your device within the meaning of § 25(1) TDDDG, no consent is required for this. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a data-minimising statistical evaluation of website usage pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. You can object to this processing at any time by activating the “Do Not Track” setting in your browser - our tracking respects this setting and then does not take place at all.
6. Newsletter
Newsletter data
If you would like to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we require an email address from you as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the email address provided and that you agree to receive the newsletter. Further data is not collected or is collected only on a voluntary basis. We use this data exclusively for sending the requested information and do not pass it on to third parties for their own purposes. For the technical delivery, we use Brevo as a processor (see section “Brevo (newsletter delivery)” below).
The data entered into the newsletter registration form is processed exclusively on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw the consent given to the storage of the data and the email address and to their use for sending the newsletter at any time, for example via the “Unsubscribe” link in the newsletter. The lawfulness of the data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the withdrawal.
The data you have provided to us for the purpose of receiving the newsletter is stored by us or the newsletter service provider until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and is deleted from the newsletter distribution list after you unsubscribe from the newsletter or once the purpose no longer applies. We reserve the right to delete or block email addresses from our newsletter distribution list at our own discretion within the scope of our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Data stored by us for other purposes remains unaffected by this.
After you have been removed from the newsletter distribution list, your email address may be stored by us or the newsletter service provider in a blacklist if this is necessary to prevent future mailings. The data from the blacklist is used only for this purpose and is not merged with other data. This serves both your interest and our interest in complying with the legal requirements when sending newsletters (legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Storage in the blacklist is not limited in time. You can object to the storage if your interests outweigh our legitimate interest.
Brevo (formerly Sendinblue)
We use Brevo to send our newsletter. The provider is Sendinblue GmbH, Köpenicker Str. 126, 10179 Berlin, Germany.
Brevo is a service with which, among other things, the sending of newsletters can be organised and analysed. The data you enter for the purpose of receiving the newsletter (email address, optionally first name) is stored on Brevo's servers in Germany and France.
Brevo enables us to analyse our newsletter campaigns. For example, we can see whether a newsletter message has been opened and which links, if any, have been clicked. In this way we can determine, among other things, which links were clicked particularly often.
Data processing is carried out on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw this consent at any time by unsubscribing from the newsletter. The lawfulness of the data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the withdrawal.
If you do not want any analysis by Brevo, you must unsubscribe from the newsletter. We provide a corresponding link for this purpose in every newsletter message.
For further details, please refer to Brevo's privacy provisions at: https://www.brevo.com/de/legal/privacypolicy/.
Data processing on our behalf
We have concluded a data processing agreement (DPA) for the use of the above-mentioned service. This is a contract required by data protection law which ensures that the service processes the personal data of our website visitors only in accordance with our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.
7. Plugins and tools
Cloudflare Turnstile
We use “Cloudflare Turnstile” (hereinafter “Turnstile”) on this website. The provider is Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA (hereinafter “Cloudflare”).
Turnstile is intended to check whether data entered on this website (e.g. in a contact form or the audit tools) is entered by a human or by an automated program. For this purpose, Turnstile evaluates various characteristics of the browser environment as soon as you submit a protected form - such as the IP address, metadata provided by the browser and the result of a JavaScript challenge executed in the background. The information collected is forwarded to Cloudflare and processed there for assessment.
According to the provider, Turnstile does not set any cookies and does not carry out any personal behavioural analysis. The challenge runs in the background; a visible widget only appears if the automated check is not conclusive.
The data is stored and analysed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in protecting its web offerings from abusive automated spying and from SPAM.
Cloudflare has its registered office in the USA, which is why personal data may be transferred to a third country. The data transfer is carried out on the basis of the standard contractual clauses adopted by the EU Commission (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR) and supplementary safeguards in accordance with Cloudflare's data processing agreement. Details: https://www.cloudflare.com/cloudflare-customer-scc/.
For further information on Cloudflare Turnstile, please refer to Cloudflare's privacy policy and the Turnstile product documentation: https://www.cloudflare.com/de-de/privacypolicy/ and https://developers.cloudflare.com/turnstile/.
Apple App Store / iTunes Search API
On the page /produkte/pixzl and in the changelog area, we show current version, rating and release information for the Pixzl iOS app. We retrieve this data on the server side via Apple's public iTunes Search API (https://itunes.apple.com/lookup). The request is made exclusively by our server, not by your browser. In the process, no personal data of website visitors is transferred to Apple - Apple learns neither your IP address nor your user agent.
This use is based on our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR in an up-to-date and correct presentation of our own products. The provider of the API is Apple Inc., One Apple Park Way, Cupertino, CA 95014, USA. Details of Apple's privacy practices: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/de-ww/.
Online appointment booking
On our contact page and via a button that can be displayed, we offer you the option of booking an appointment for a non-binding initial consultation or a callback directly online. We operate the booking calendar ourselves using the open-source software Cal.com at booking.pixzl.de on our servers in Germany. No data is transferred to the manufacturer of the software or to other third parties.
The booking calendar is loaded only after your active interaction (click on the “Select appointment” or “Book callback” button).
As soon as you book an appointment, we process the data you enter in order to organise the appointment: name, email address, phone number, selected time, time zone and, optionally, a message or details of the occasion. In addition, there is technical connection data (including IP address, browser and device information) that arises when the calendar is accessed. The booking is then synchronised with our calendar so that we can keep the appointment.
The legal basis for processing in the context of a specific appointment booking is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (implementation of pre-contractual measures at your request). The data is stored only for as long as is necessary to carry out the appointment and to fulfil statutory retention obligations.
Sentry (error and stability monitoring)
We use the “Sentry” service on this website for the automated detection and correction of technical errors. The provider is Functional Software, Inc. (dba Sentry), 45 Fremont Street, 8th Floor, San Francisco, CA 94105, USA.
If a technical error occurs in your browser or on our server when the website is accessed, Sentry automatically transmits information about this error. In particular, the error message including the technical call path (stack trace), the page accessed (URL), the type and version of your browser, your operating system and the time of the error are processed. This data helps us to reliably detect and fix crashes and malfunctions of the website.
We have configured Sentry in a data-minimising way: no personal data such as IP addresses or cookie contents is automatically collected (option “sendDefaultPii” deactivated). Sentry does not set any cookies for error recording and does not access information in your device. User sessions are not recorded (“Session Replay”).
The error data is processed in the European Union (Sentry EU data region). As the provider has its registered office in the USA, access from the USA nevertheless cannot be completely ruled out; we base this possible transfer on the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission under Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR.
Sentry is used on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in the technically error-free, stable and secure operation of our website. A data processing agreement (DPA) pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the provider.
Further information on data protection at Sentry can be found at: https://sentry.io/privacy/.
8. Free online tools
At /tools we provide free tools (including Meta Tag Checker, Open Graph Preview, Domain Check, Ladezeit Checker, HTTP Header Checker, Schema Markup Tester, robots.txt Validator, Hreflang Checker, Sitemap Generator, SEO-Audit, Accessibility-Audit, DSGVO-Audit, GEO-Audit, Farbkontrast Checker, Passwort Generator, JSON Formatter, Lorem Ipsum Generator, Zeichenzähler, Farbpaletten Generator, QR-Code Generator, robots.txt Generator, Google Snippet Checker and various OBS overlays). With regard to data processing, these tools can be divided into three groups:
a) Tools that run exclusively in your browser
For the following tools, no data whatsoever is transferred to our server. Your entries remain entirely on your device and are not sent either to us or to third parties: Passwort Generator, JSON Formatter, Lorem Ipsum Generator, Zeichenzähler, Farbpaletten Generator, Farbkontrast Checker, QR-Code Generator, robots.txt Generator, Google Snippet Checker and all OBS overlays (Countdown, Social Bar, Now Playing display). Processing takes place purely on the client side in the JavaScript of your browser.
b) Tools that send a request to our server
For the tools Meta Tag Checker, Open Graph Preview, Ladezeit Checker, Domain Check, HTTP Header Checker, Schema Markup Tester, robots.txt Validator, Hreflang Checker, Sitemap Generator and SEO-Audit, we process the following data on our server as soon as you actively use the tool and start the check:
- the URL or domain you enter (input data)
- your IP address for abuse prevention and rate limiting (volatile, for a maximum of 15 minutes in memory, no permanent storage)
- technical access data as part of the usual server logs (time of the request, path accessed, user agent, HTTP status)
For the tools mentioned, our server retrieves the target URL you specify once on your behalf and reads publicly accessible content and HTTP headers (e.g. title, meta tags, Open Graph tags, security headers, JSON-LD structured data, hreflang tags). In the process, the target website sees only the IP address of our server - your IP address is not transmitted to the target website. The retrieved data is displayed to you and is not stored afterwards.
For the Domain Check, we carry out standard DNS queries (A, AAAA, MX, TXT, NS, CNAME records and DMARC TXT) via our server's DNS resolver and check the HTTPS availability and the TLS certificate of the domain. The queries are made exclusively against publicly available infrastructure. The results are displayed to you and are not stored.
The Sitemap Generator additionally follows same-origin hyperlinks of the target website with hard limits (maximum 100 URLs, maximum three levels deep, maximum 25 seconds runtime). The URLs found in this way are used exclusively to generate the sitemap XML and are not persisted.
c) Tools with optional email delivery (SEO-Audit, Accessibility-Audit, DSGVO-Audit, GEO-Audit)
The tools /seo-audit, /accessibility-audit, /dsgvo-audit and /geo-audit combine several checks into one overall report:
- SEO-Audit: performance, SEO meta tags, security headers, structured data, hreflang
- Accessibility-Audit: automatable WCAG 2.2 AA criteria (language, headings, alt texts, form labels, link/button quality, iframe titles, tabindex)
- DSGVO-Audit: mandatory information (legal notice, privacy policy), HTTPS/HSTS, cookies set on first access, known trackers in the HTML, hotlinked Google Fonts, YouTube/Maps embeds and server location via an IP geolocation query against ipapi.co
- GEO-Audit: visibility for AI search engines - AI bot access (analysis of /robots.txt of the target domain for Disallow rules for GPTBot, PerplexityBot, ClaudeBot, etc.), presence of /llms.txt, schema markup for AI extraction, content heuristics (question headings, answer block lengths, statistics/source density), OpenGraph tags. Only publicly accessible content of the target website is retrieved - no third-party provider is contacted for this audit.
The initial check is carried out anonymously as described under b). Optionally, you can have the detailed report sent to you by email. In this case, we additionally process:
- the email address you provide
- the checked URL and the audit result (for inclusion in the report email)
Processor for sending emails: Brevo (Sendinblue GmbH, Köpenicker Str. 126, 10179 Berlin). Servers in Germany and France. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Brevo.
Additional third-party provider for the DSGVO-Audit (server location query): ipapi (ipapi.co, operated by Kloudend, Inc., 188 King St, Toronto, ON M5V 1J2, Canada). Only the IPv4 address of the target website you specify is transmitted (not your IP). Canada has a GDPR adequacy decision of the EU Commission (PIPEDA); from your perspective no third-country transfer takes place, as only data of third parties (the target domain) is processed.
Storage period: If you only request the report and do not tick the box for marketing consent, your email address is transmitted to Brevo exclusively once for delivery of the report and is then not stored in a list or database. Processing is limited to the transactional delivery of the report email.
If you tick the box for marketing consent, your email address is additionally added to our lead list and to our newsletter list at Brevo so that we can occasionally send you insights and offers. This storage is based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) and can be withdrawn at any time via the unsubscribe link in every email or by an informal message to us.
Legal basis for the one-time delivery of the report: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (fulfilment of your request). Legal basis for inclusion in our lists where consent has been activated: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
No registration, no cookies, no trackers
All tools can be used anonymously. No registration or login is required. In connection with the tools, we set no cookies, use no tracking and do not store your entries or results beyond the mere processing of the request.
Legal basis and purpose
The legal basis for the processing described is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest). Our legitimate interest lies in providing free helper tools that require no login for developers, designers and entrepreneurs and - for the IP-based evaluation in the rate limiter - in protecting our infrastructure from abusive automated use. Data processed on the server side is not stored further after the request has ended; access logs are deleted in accordance with the section “Hosting” after the usual retention periods have expired.
9. Pixzl apps
We offer native applications for macOS and iOS (including Deploir). These apps are distributed free of charge exclusively via the Apple App Store.
a) No telemetry, no licence check
The current App Store versions of our apps do not perform a licence check. No usage statistics, no crash reporting to third parties and no analytics data are collected. Insofar as an app - such as Deploir - establishes connections to servers, this is done exclusively to the destinations you have stored in the app yourself (e.g. your own Coolify instance). Pixzl receives no data whatsoever in this process.
b) Push notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging (Pixzl app)
The Pixzl app for iOS optionally offers push notifications about new Newsroom posts. If you activate these notifications in iOS for the Pixzl app, the app subscribes to the topic “newsroom” with the Firebase Cloud Messaging service of Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). We use the topic model exclusively - this means:
- We do not address individual devices; we send a push to all topic subscribers at the same time.
- We do not know your Apple Push Notification Service device identifier (“device token”); it remains with Apple and Google.
- The push content triggered by us contains only public information about the new post (title, slug, category, public image URL) - no personal data.
The recipient is Google in its function as push provider. We have concluded a data processing agreement with Google pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR (standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission). The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest consists in informing app users promptly about new content relevant to them. You can deactivate the notifications at any time in the iOS settings of the Pixzl app - this also ends the topic subscription.

c) Obtaining the app via the Apple App Store
Apple handles the acquisition, installation and any updates of the app on its own responsibility. Which data Apple processes in this context (e.g. Apple ID, device information, download history) is set out in Apple's privacy policy. The provider is Apple Distribution International Ltd., Hollyhill Industrial Estate, Hollyhill, Cork, Ireland. Details: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/de-ww/.
d) Information on in-app purchases
Should future app versions offer paid features via in-app purchases, Apple handles these payments exclusively itself. In this case, Pixzl does not receive any payment data, but only a purchase confirmation signed by Apple to unlock the feature.
